The process

1. Booking

Once availability for your date has been confirmed and a package has been selected, a contract and a retainer invoice will be sent to you. These two things are required in order to secure your booking. Couples that book with Lauren spend an average of $3500-$4500 on a live wedding painting. Pricing varies based on location, time of year, size of the canvas, number of people included in the painting, etc. For your convenience, the cost of travel is included in the pricing that you will receive when you inquire. Because of this, the wedding location and date must be known in order to receive an accurate quote.

2. Planning

Upon booking, Lauren will coordinate a virtual meetup to talk about your vision and inspiration for the day. Each couple has the opportunity to choose which moment that they would like painted. They can also choose who they would like to be included in the painting along with which elements from the wedding they would like featured. Lauren will coordinate with your photographer and wedding coordinator to make sure the perfect moment is captured for your painting.

3. The Wedding Day

Each wedding painting is customized to your needs to ensure the painting captures your vision and provides a memorable experience for your guests. Lauren typically arrives a few hours early to the venue to prepare her materials and photograph the couple & venue for painting references. The composition for the painting will be set in the planning phase, but to ensure the best possible result, Lauren will take numerous photos to work from. She will continue to paint throughout the ceremony and reception while allowing guests to interact and watch the painting come to life throughout the evening. Lauren paints using photo and video reference as well as memory and direct observation. Because of this, she can move around throughout the night as needed. The painting truly starts to come together within the last few hours of the event. The painting will be refined and perfected in Lauren’s studio after the wedding.

4. After the Wedding

After the wedding, Lauren refines the painting in her studio adding detail and final touches to the composition. Minor changes and adjustments may also be made as needed. Once all necessary changes have been made, the painting is varnished to protect it for years to come. The completed painting will be packed up and shipped to your home or hand delivered if you’re local! This is left to Lauren’s discretion.
